Privacy Policy.

What we collect, what we don’t, and the choices you have.

Last updated: April 26, 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what data SnapWave Booth collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We try to keep it short and readable. If anything is unclear, email us at hello@snapwave.co.

2. Information we collect

From hosts (account holders):

  • Email address and a hashed password
  • Event details you create (name, theme, options, AI Filter selection)
  • Billing details when you pay for an event (handled by our payment processor)

From guests at your event:

  • Photos they capture in the booth
  • Limited browser/device metadata required to deliver the booth (such as user agent, viewport size, and connection status)

We do not require guests to create accounts or provide their names or contact information.

3. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • operate the booth and display photos in the host’s live gallery;
  • generate AI Filter outputs when a guest selects one;
  • process payments and send transactional emails;
  • secure the Service and prevent abuse;
  • fix bugs and improve the product.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use guest photos for advertising.

4. AI Filter processing

When a guest taps an AI Filter, the source photo is sent to a third-party AI provider for stylization and the result is returned to your gallery. We instruct providers not to retain photos for training purposes, but you should know that the photo briefly leaves our infrastructure to be processed. If you don’t want to use AI Filters at your event, turn them off in your event settings.

5. Storage & retention

Photos are stored in the host’s photo vault for 30 days after capture and then automatically deleted.

Account and event metadata are retained while your account is active and for a short period afterward to handle support, billing, and legal obligations. You can request earlier deletion at any time.

6. Who we share information with

We share data only with the service providers we need to run SnapWave, and only as necessary to deliver the Service:

  • Hosting & database: stores your account, events, and photos.
  • Payment processor: handles event payments. We never see or store full card numbers.
  • AI providers: generate AI Filter outputs from submitted photos.
  • Email delivery: sends transactional emails (account verification, password reset, receipts).

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a corporate transaction (such as a merger or acquisition), with notice to you where required.

7. Cookies & local storage

We use a small number of cookies and browser storage entries that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to remember your event preferences. We don’t use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • export a copy of your data;
  • delete your account and the data tied to it;
  • object to or restrict certain processing.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@snapwave.co. We’ll respond within a reasonable timeframe and may need to verify your identity first.

9. Children

SnapWave is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we’ll delete it.

10. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and row-level security on our database so that hosts can only access their own events and photos. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to follow industry best practices.

11. International users

SnapWave is operated using cloud infrastructure that may store and process data in countries other than the one you live in. By using the Service you understand and agree that your data may be transferred to those locations.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, post a notice in the product or email account holders.
